DETAILS OF LOCAL EVENTS, NEWS & ROAD CLOSURES BELOW:
The Parish Council were succesful in obtaining a small grant from the Tesco Bags of Help Fund last August.
This has enabled the Parish Council to purchase a new replacement bench, for Hollywood Lane, made from recycled plastic, and two new Parish Council Noticeboards, and signage, one of which has been relocated from the rear of Drakes Cross shops to in front of the One Stop Shop and the other is on the corner of Silver Street.
As you can see from the photo below, the new noticeboard at Drakes Cross is already being well used by local groups.
Temporary Closure of Hollywood Post Office
Statement from the Post Office
"We sincerely apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Hollywood Post Office.
We understand and appreciate how much communities rely on our services. We would like to reassure customers that the decision to suspend services at any of our branches is never taken lightly. We take very seriously any decision to temporarily close a branch, and will only do so when it is warranted.
We are working hard to restore services for the community as quickly as possible."

Worcestershire County Council Street Lighting Energy Saving Initiative
County Council agreed, following a succesful trial period in Droitwich, to reduce both spend and CO2 emissions by carrying our part night switch off of two out of three lights in mostly residential areas.
Part night switch off refers to the period midnight to 6am only and areas such as major trafic routes are exempt from the plans.
This approach will save the taxpayer £500,000 per year and significantly reduce CO2 emissions.
