PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS

IN VIEW OF THE CURRENT SITUATION WITH COVID -19 THE PARISH COUNCIL, HAVE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED COMMITTEE MEETINGS. THE COUNCIL MEETING IN APRIL WAS ALSO CANCELLED. 

 

FROM MAY 2020 THE PARISH COUNCIL WILL HOLD COUNCIL MEETINGS VIRTUALLY USING VIDEO CONFERENCING. LOCAL RESIDENTS ARE ABLE TO JOIN THE MEETINGS. DETAILS ON HOW TO JOIN WILL BE PUBLISHED ON THE PUBLIC NOTICE FOR EACH MEETING.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS 

 

The Parish Council Meeting year starts in May.

 

Each May the Parish Council will hold a Annual Meeting at which the Parish Council elect the Chairperson and Vice-Chair. At the Annual Meeting the Parish Council will also appoint to its Committees and Outside Organisations, which Parish Councillors sit on to represent the Parish; review and reaffirm governance documents; and set out the plan for the year ahead. 

 

The Council meeting is where all decisions are made.

COMMITTEE STRUCTURE 

 

The Parish Councils Committee structure consists of six Committees which report into full Council.

All Committee meetings are open to the public. You can attend the meeting to observe but are unable to participate. 

 

Some of the Committees also have working groups and sub-committee which focus on area of business and report back into the Committee. For example, there is a Risk Sub-Committee which regularly scrutinises the Councils Risk Register and reports comments and changes in to the Finance, Governance and Risk Committee. The Committee considers the proposals Sub-Committee and makes recommendations to full Council. 

 

Working Group and Sub-Committee meeting are not public meetings.
